That's gotta be uncomfortable!

Ella was so tired yesterday that she fell asleep sitting up, but bent forward with her face in the blankets. I had to go and keep checking on her every few minutes to make sure she could still breathe.

The past week

The past week has seen a dramatic improvement in Ella's social skills. All of a sudden she doesn't seem to mind other people holding her and being amongst a lot of other people. This has been good as we spent the last four days seeing a lot of people.

Wednesday saw Mum and Dad back from their six week holiday and Ella was keen to show off her new skills (mainly crawling). Thursday saw us off to swimming and to visit Grandmum and Grandpop. Friday was to playgroup and dinner with Mum, Dad, Kim, Mark, Allan and Carol (Mark's parents). Saturday was dinner again with Mum, Dad, Kim, Mark, Allan and Carol. Sunday was lunch and afternoon tea with Lyn, Helen, Greg and Lucy. We thought we had a different baby as she was so well behaved! until last night which brought another two hour screamathon.

Ella was a little unsure about yoghurt. Every time I went to put it in her mouth she moved it, that's why it ended up around her mouth!

Our first family holiday

We had our first family holiday this week. Originally we were going to hire a camper trailer for the week but Ella's nighttime sleep has deteriorated over the past few weeks so that we could not subject the whole caravan park to hours of nighttime screaming. Anyway, we ended up in a two bedroom self contained apartment which was very nice.

As you can see by the photos we took the Discovery on the beach! After an initial setback where we nearly got bogged after driving about 40m in the sand (we hadn't let the tyre pressure down) we had no other problems. It was good fun.

Ella had her first play in the sand and ended up totally covered. She really enjoyed playing with her new bag of sand toys (and the sand!).

We also managed to go fishing, just didn't catch any fish.

Downside of the whole week was that Ella and Jodie have come down with a cold again and we have had to cancel the Ellen Barron Centre next week. Have been rebooked in for the week commencing 27th August.

First trip in the boat

While we were down the coast Ella had her first trip in the boat. As you can see from the photos she had a good time. Our next task is to get her fishing.

Trip down the coast

We had our first overnight trip to stay with people (other than Kim and Mark) with Grandma and Granddad last night. Ella woke up at 3am but Grandma and Granddad assured us that they didn't hear the hour of crying. Good thing was she then slept in until 9am and Rob and I got to go out together in the boat.

Not that we caught anything, the water was crystal clear! Rob caught a few (9) later in the day when he went out by himself.

It was good to stay overnight as we didn't have to rush home between feeds and sleeps. Was also good to get out in the boat again.
