I went out the front door this afternoon to find a condom on the door handle. Disgusting! On closer inspection it was unused. Thank goodness. I still wasn't very keen on removing it. Yuck.

Caloundra
We spent the weekend with Mum, Dad, Kim and Mark at Caloundra. Mum and Dad in the caravan and the rest of us in an apartment. Had a good weekend, but would have been a lot better if Rob wasn't sick and we didn't have a trip to the hospital on Friday afternoon. Anyway, I think that's a good reason to go again.
First trip to the hospital
Yes, you're reading correctly, we had to visit the Royal Children's Hospital last Friday. Ella managed to dip one of her fingers into my very hot porridge and also wipe it on her face. Too cut a long story short, we had to make a trip to emergency and then to the burns unit. Back twice this week to check it out, but dressing is off today and everything is ok.

The past two weeks
Boy oh boy, I can't even come up with original post names. Not too much has been happening in the Parke household. Last weekend we turned Ella's carseat around, still good for falling asleep in (thank goodness!). We also looked after Saba for a day, she was very well bahaved (for a puppy). I bought Ella a wagon to push around and it didn't take her long to work out what to do (she just needs some steering lessons).

Matilda's christening
Weekend in Bundy
We have just returned home from spending the weekend in Bundaberg with our friends Evan and Sara. Kim and Mark also came up for the weekend with Charlie so it was a full house. Kia missed out on this trip as we thought having three dogs and a baby as well as six adults in a house for the weekend was just too much. Also, we had enough gear to take for Ella, let alone Kia as well.
Evan and Sara were great hosts as usual. Sara cooking meals and making coffee all weekend. Great fun was had by all of us at go-carting, especially when it decided to shower. Unfortunately I have to concede that I need a bit more practice..... Anyway, we are now looking forward to going up to Bundy again sometime soon.

New hat
Ella with her new hat that cannot be pulled off her head. Surprisingly hard to find a hat that you can tie on. I can't believe that Ella is the only one who pulls her hat off.... She has decided to copy Kia in eating leaves, grass, sticks, whatever you can find.
Kia standing guard, ie. waiting for Ella to drop what she has.

Matilda
Rob and his apprentice
Rob has been doing some work in Toowoomba for friends of Kim and Mark (Michelle and Stephen). They have two boys, Mark (nearly 3) and Thomas (just turned 1). Mark has been enjoying going through Rob's tools and naming them all for him. Hope you don't mind Michelle and Stephen for stealing your photo, but it's a good one!

Fathers Day
We had a fairly quiet Father's Day. I cooked Rob breakfast, we put Ella back to bed and went back to bed for another hour ourselves. It was then off for a Watkinson lunch at North Pine Dam.
After that, an abortive attempt to put Ella down for her afternoon sleep and Rob went to see his father. Met Maddox (Kylee's new puppy) in the afternoon and ended up with a houseful of visitors.
Had a quiet night, Ella went to sleep with barely a whimper. Kept meaning to take a photo of Ella and Rob all day (their first Father's Day together) but forgot! The only photo we ended up with was one of Nanna and Ella - lucky it's a good one.

The past week
The past week has seen a dramatic improvement in Ella's social skills. All of a sudden she doesn't seem to mind other people holding her and being amongst a lot of other people. This has been good as we spent the last four days seeing a lot of people.
Wednesday saw Mum and Dad back from their six week holiday and Ella was keen to show off her new skills (mainly crawling). Thursday saw us off to swimming and to visit Grandmum and Grandpop. Friday was to playgroup and dinner with Mum, Dad, Kim, Mark, Allan and Carol (Mark's parents). Saturday was dinner again with Mum, Dad, Kim, Mark, Allan and Carol. Sunday was lunch and afternoon tea with Lyn, Helen, Greg and Lucy. We thought we had a different baby as she was so well behaved! until last night which brought another two hour screamathon.
